Xiaomi has been known for actively updating its smartphones to newer versions of the firmware for several years now. Devices for which it has stopped releasing updates are included in the EOS list (End of Support).
And so the Chinese company has released an updated version of this list. It includes several models directly from Xiaomi and Redmi:
The first thing that catches your eye is the simultaneous appearance of two Xiaomi flagships - Mi 8 and Mi 9. At the same time, among Redmi devices there is only one new copy - Redmi 7A. All three models received MIUI 12.5 as the last update and have stopped being supported by the company since August 25.
However, it is worth noting that devices included in the EOS list can often be updated independently using third-party firmware. However, such an approach carries certain risks, and whether or not to take them is up to everyone.
