In August, Xiaomi introduced the best smartphone of the Redmi series – K50 Ultra (Extreme Edition), the main feature of which is a screen with a resolution of 1.5K. According to the manufacturer, such a screen turned out to be a golden mean between standard Full HD and 2K screens. Now authorized insider Ice Univerce reports that in 2023 other Chinese manufacturers will follow the example of Xiaomi, but Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S23 and S23+ will remain with the usual 1080p display.
If Xiaomi’s presentation is to be believed, the 1.5K screen is almost as economical as the Full HD screen, but has about the same pixel density as the 2K matrix. In addition, a 1.5K screen is clearly cheaper than a 2K screen – the final cost of the smartphone will be lower.
