Apple has planned the launch of a new SE series smartphone in 2023. This was reported by MacRumors.

Media journalists cited the open report by Ross Young, analyst at Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC). According to experts, the new iPhone SE model will receive some features from the iPhone Xr model – a 6.1-inch IPS display with a “single eyebrow”. The phone’s release is scheduled for 2024.

The “one eyebrow” of the future phone is likely to be smaller than the iPhone Xr and other Apple smartphones. This will be done due to the fact that the device will not have a TrueDepth sensor, which is necessary for the Face ID scanner to work. It is also believed that the smartphone will retain the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, but in a different format – the fingerprint scanner, after all, will be placed on the side button.

According to journalists, Ross Young’s report does not contradict other insiders about Apple’s upcoming smartphone. The SE design change was previously reported by authorized insider Ming-Chi Ko and prominent Apple blogger John Prosser.

The original iPhone SE was released in 2016. In 2020, Apple released the SE of the second generation, in 2022 the SE of the third generation.
