Huawei has a foldable smartphone in the form of the Huawei Pocket P50 clamshell and now the company is reportedly preparing to launch the next model in this foldable series soon. A source from China said that the new model of the Huawei P50 Pocket series will be available in the Chinese market by the end of this month. However, the company has not yet announced anything about this new phone.

According to the report, the upcoming smartphone model will have a 6.9-inch internal display and will not have an external display. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, which will be limited to 4G connectivity.

In the camera department, it will feature a triple rear camera setup that includes a 40-megapixel primary camera sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 32-megapixel hyperspectral lens.

If previous reports are to be believed, the smartphone is likely to be called the Huawei P50 Pocket New and is expected to be priced much lower than the original model as the company is trying to beat the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series.

The price of Huawei’s upcoming foldable smartphone could be 50 percent lower than its predecessor. The starting price of the smartphone with 256 GB of internal memory may be ~$695, but this is just an estimate for now. Samsung is also said to be working on an affordable foldable smartphone under the Galaxy A series, but we may have to wait a few years for an affordable Galaxy A series foldable smartphone to hit the market.
