The Pixel 7 Pro did what other Pixel phones couldn’t: Google’s new flagship took a sensational first place in the DxOMark camera rating. Google phones have never been this high before. It’s interesting that the Pixel 7 Pro doesn’t have an inch sensor or any branded optics, but that didn’t stop it from being the best among all flagships.

Pixel 7 Pro sensors can’t be called big in general. With its 1/1.31 inch optical format, the main format with only 48 MP resolution stands out. The optical format of the 48-megapixel sensor in the module with the telephoto lens is 1/2.55 inches, while the module with the wide-angle lens uses a 12-megapixel sensor with an optical format of 1/2.86 inches.

DxOMark experts state that the camera accurately transfers skin tones in photos even when shooting in harsh conditions, provides a very wide dynamic range in both photos and videos, and autofocus works quickly and accurately both during photo shooting and video recording. And the Pixel 7 Pro provides good detail (even in zoom photos) and contrast (even in backlit photos), the stabilization system works effectively. Complaints are mostly caused by artifacts and noise in the photo, mostly in difficult shooting conditions with a lack of light. And when shooting close-ups, there is a problem with details.

The final result is 147 points. The Honor Magic4 Ultra has the same amount but placed second. Accordingly, all phones lost a position in the camera rating.

At the same time, DxOMark experts tested the Pixel 7 Pro screen and front camera. And here the newcomer also performed very well. You could even call it an example. For example, in the Pixel 7 Pro display test, equipped with an OLED panel with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a resolution of 3120×1440 pixels and a frame rate of 120 Hz, only the iPhone 14 Pro Max (146 points against 149) came out.

Yes, the phone’s display is praised for “nice HDR10 video”, good color reproduction in most lighting conditions, adequate automatic brightness adjustment in low-light conditions and indoors. Of the minuses – the screen is sometimes not bright enough on the street, sometimes the pictures in the games are not smooth enough.

Finally, the Pixel 7 Pro also did well in the front-facing camera test – it took third place in the corresponding rating, behind only the iPhone 14 Pro and Huawei P50 Pro. Overall, the Pixel 7 Pro performed very well in all DxOMark tests. If we trust them, the Pixel 7 Pro is one of the most balanced flagships. Source
