We recently reported that Google is working on a new Pixel series smartphone with model number G10. This model is clearly a modified version of the Pixel 7 Pro, but the device also hints at some of the features we can expect from next year’s Pixel 8 Pro.
Developer Kuba Wojciechowski shared the first news about the Pixel G10 on Twitter. However, looking at his tweets, it is reported that the modified version of the Pixel 7 Pro will have Qualcomm’s new ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. In other words, it implies that the Pixel 8 Pro, which will be released next year, is likely to have the same technology. The slow fingerprint reader from the optical fingerprint sensor would even solve the problem that many people have on Pixel series smartphones.
From now on, other brands like Samsung, Vivo and others have switched to ultrasonic sensor for biometric security. Technology giant Search Engine will be able to offer its users faster and smoother unlocking thanks to this new sensor. There are other benefits as well, such as being able to unlock your device even if your finger is wet or oily. It is even more secure than other types of fingerprint scanners.
Unfortunately, the fine details of the Pixel 8 Pro are currently unknown. Although it is believed to be powered by the next generation Tensor 3 chipset, which may be manufactured by Samsung. The new chip is likely to improve performance over its predecessor, and the entire Pixel 8 series could receive updated support for fast charging. Note that this is currently only an unconfirmed report. Source
