The Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphones are arguably one of the best camera phones on the market, offering impressive low-light performance with advanced night shooting features. Now, with an updated version of Expert RAW, the South Korean company is bringing astrophotography and multiple exposure features to the Galaxy S22’s camera. Details are here.

Samsung has announced that it is bringing new features such as multiple exposure and astrophotography modes to Galaxy S22 smartphones running OneUI 5.0. The company has also officially launched a new app called Camera Assistant.

Astrophotography mode allows users to take clear pictures of constellations and dark sky activity. To use this mod, users must enable the new Sky Guidance feature to pinpoint constellations, solar systems, and star groups. The device’s camera will then use advanced artificial intelligence segmentation technology and multi-frame processing based on the movements of celestial bodies to take pictures at a specific time period. Astrophotography mode allows users to choose a shutter speed between UW 30s/W 20s/T 15s/ST 4s.

In contrast, the multiple exposure mode allows users to take multiple photos of the same scene and overlay them. Two new features are available in the Custom Photo section of the latest version of the Expert RAW camera app.

Also, Samsung has announced the Camera Assistant app for the Galaxy S22. It gives users the ability to enable or disable certain features of the standard camera application. It allows users to turn off auto HDR, soften images, automatically switch lenses, record video in photo mode and much more.
