Chinese regulator TENAA has released the specifications of the Motorola Moto X40. According to them, the new product will not be much different from the Motorola Moto X30, which became the world’s first model with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

Motorola Moto X40 will receive an OLED display with a diagonal of 6.67 inches and a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. The battery capacity is 5000 mAh. Options for the amount of RAM – 8, 12 and 18 GB, flash memory – 128, 256 and 512 GB. The main camera will have sensors with a resolution of 50, 50 and 12 MP, it will provide 4x optical zoom. The dimensions and weight of Motorola Moto X40 are 161.3×73.9×8.5 mm and 196 grams.

Technical characteristics almost exactly repeat the parameters of its predecessor. The only difference is that the Moto X30 does not have the top version with 18 GB of RAM, and the resolution of the third camera module is only 2 MP compared to the 12 MP in the new model. A big question is whether these changes, along with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s 20% performance increase over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (which is said to be such an increase), are enough to transform the Motorola Moto X30 into the Motorola Moto X40.
