The Redmi Note 12 series was launched in China last week. The model range consists of regular, Pro, Pro+ and Discover Edition options. Availability of the smartphone outside of China is currently unknown. Tipster Kacper Skrzpek has revealed some details about the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ in the MIUI codebase.

Skrzpek reported that Redmi Note 12 Pro+ may enter the Indian market as Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge. It will likely be the successor to the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge launched earlier this year. This does not seem surprising as the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G in China. Information about the standard Redmi Note 12 Pro was not disclosed by the informant. However, the Indian version of Redmi Note 12 Pro has already been included in the IMEI database and has also been certified by the BIS. It is likely that the Xiaomi 12i is an updated version of the Redmi Note 12 Pro.

We can expect the same specs as the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge is rumored to be a rebrand of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+. This means that the device could have a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 900 nits brightness, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. It is powered by the Dimensity 1080 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There is a VC cooling system for heat removal.

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. It has a 200 MP main camera with OIS support, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens and a 2 MP macro unit. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and connectivity options such as USB-C port, 5G, WiFi-6, Bluetooth 5.2, IR Blaster and X-Axis linear motor.
