The Chinese tech giant has released a new teaser video and poster images on its official Weibo account. Promos on a Chinese microblogging website suggest that the new smartphone will have a 1-inch primary camera sensor on the back. However, this sensor will be further complemented by a special Leica M-series lens that can be detached from the large rear camera module.

According to official notes, Xiaomi has become the first to attach a full Leica camera lens to a smartphone to enhance the photography of the new version of the 12S Ultra Concept. The company claims that the new lens will help the device offer both a flagship-level smartphone and a professional photography tool. The 12S Ultra Concept appears to offer two 1-inch sensors, one of which is paired with a regular smartphone sensor and external lenses in the middle of the module.
