Some information about the iPhone 15 Pro has been leaked in the last few months, including hints that the smartphone will likely feature a USB-C port with Thunderbolt support, a periscope telephoto lens, and new buttons. Insider ShrimpApplePro now confirms previous rumors that the next-gen flagship will have a titanium body. This could make the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra significantly lighter because titanium is 60 percent lighter than stainless steel of comparable strength.
According to ShrimpApplePro, not only the material of the case, but also the design has changed. According to its data, the iPhone 15 Pro will have a rounded edge shape on the back, similar to what we know from the iPhone 3G or iPhone 5C.
However, unlike these old models, the body does not consist of a single piece. Instead, the titanium frame needs to be rounded before it enters the rear window. Among other things, this should provide a more cohesive transition from the bezel to the camera module. Glass on the back may be required to enable wireless charging and compatibility with MagSafe accessories. With the iPhone 15 Pro still around ten months away, these early rumors should, as always, be treated with some skepticism.
