Samsung has released the One UI 5 stable update for its flagship Galaxy S20 series, but the affordable Galaxy S20 FE was not part of the release. The fan version smartphone is finally getting the Android 13-based One UI 5 update. The update is currently rolling out in Europe and Russia. Separately, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite gets tablet-optimized Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 in India. Details are here.
According to Sammobile, the One UI 5 update for the Galaxy S20 FE is rolling out to users in Russia with firmware version G780FXXUAEVK3. It is likely to reach other areas within a few days. As of this writing, the update is only available for the 4G Exynos variant of the device with the SM-G780F model. Other variants will receive software in the near future.
We don’t have access to the update’s changelog, but like the One UI 5 releases for other Samsung flagships, the Galaxy S20 FE update includes all the new features introduced by Google in Android 13, a few Samsung-exclusive features, and Android security fixes until November 2022.
Moving on to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, it receives the Android 12L OS-based One UI 4.1.1 update, a first for tablets. The update is rolling out to users in India with firmware version P619XXU1AVJ2. This update includes the September security patch, not the November security patch. For now, the update is only available for LTE-equipped models, and a Wi-Fi-only version will be available soon.
Android 12L comes with a redesigned multitasking interface with taskbar and resizable windows. Two-finger gestures will also be available to switch between multitasking and full-screen mode.
