Samsung’s One UI 5 update arrives for Galaxy Z Flip 5G

After rolling out stable One UI 5 to its latest foldable devices earlier this month, Samsung is now hosting the 2020 Galaxy Z Flip 5G software. The Android 13-based update is currently rolling out in Europe and is scheduled for wider rollout in the coming days. According to Sammobile, the One UI 5 stable update for the Galaxy Z Flip is currently rolling out in Europe to regions such as Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, and Poland. Currently, Android 13 is only available for the 5G model, but Samsung is likely to release the update for the LTE model soon.

The update is said to include all the new features introduced by Google in Android 13, as well as some Samsung-exclusive things like widget support, Bixby text search, new multitasking gestures, and more. It is also expected to increase the security patch level of Android by November 2022.

If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 5G user and live in the countries mentioned above, pay attention to the OTA notification. As usual, Samsung needs to roll out the update gradually and it may take a few days before it’s available to everyone. Users can download the update by going to Settings, selecting Software Update and tapping Download & Install.

As a reminder, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G was launched in 2020, just a few months after the LTE variant. The foldable device has already received two major updates, and the latest One UI 5 update will likely be the device’s last major update. The smartphone will continue to receive regular security updates for the next two years.
