New rumors claim that the iPhone 14 will keep the Lightning port for another year, but at least some models of the 14 Pro will receive higher port speeds.
Currently, Apple has equipped almost all Macs and iPads with a USB-C connector. But when it comes to iPhone, the company still insists on the Lightning connector.
The rumors came from iDropNews, which in turn learned from anonymous sources. According to them, iPhone 14 Pro models will be equipped with a faster USB 3.0 Lightning connector.
“The Lightning connector is usually USB 2.0, but technically not limited to that, and Apple engineers are working on 3.0 for the iPhone 14 Pro connector.” – said the sources.
USB 3.0 Lightning has already appeared on the Apple iPad Pro. However, for some reason Apple did not offer an updated Lightning connector on the iPhone.
