The American company produced motion sensors, CCTV cameras, smart sockets, light bulbs and other devices. According to the source, there were no announcements or warnings about the shutdown.
Shutting down the servers messed up the smart home’s cloud-connected settings: all devices connected to it, costing hundreds of dollars, stopped working.
Customers are complaining that the service has not been running since April 15, despite the company’s status page saying “all services are online.”
The company’s forums do not work, no one answers users on social networks.
However, Insteon executives, including CEO Rob Lilleness, have removed information about the company from their LinkedIn accounts. Lillenes also removed the name and photo from her LinkedIn profile.
