After the occasional unexpected delay, Xiaomi introduced the two most important mobile phones for the 2023 course: Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. Successors of Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro come with relevant changes, although in this generation almost all focus has been on the “small” model. This is Xiaomi 13
Xiaomi 13 is Xiaomi’s top bestseller for 2023. Last year, the design of this terminal was a carbon copy, but smaller in size compared to the Xiaomi 13 Pro. This generation wanted it to have its own identity.. Xiaomi 13 has a flat screen with nearly 90% frontal use. Frames are minimal and symmetrical in a way we’re not used to seeing on high-end Android.
The panel stays in a Full HD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR+, and a 6.39-inch (although 2K is appreciated) that seems adequate, covered in Gorilla Glass Victus. Speaking of protection finally comes the IP68 protocol against water and dust. The maximum brightness of the panel is 1,900 nits, thus outstripping the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and approaching the spectacular 2,000 nits of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.
The processor is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 accompanied by up to 12GB of LPDDR5X type RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 memory. The base configuration is still 8+128GB. The battery is 4,500mAh with 67W fast charging, 50W wireless and 10W irreversible, no change here.
The big improvement comes in cameras, and that’s when the smaller model finally has a telephoto lens. In this generation we have a 50 megapixel main sensor, 12 megapixel ultra wide angle and 3.2x 10m telephoto lens. The camera is signed by Leica.A strategic deal to strengthen Xiaomi’s photography position in the market.
This is Xiaomi 13 Pro.
On the Xiaomi 13 Pro side, there are almost no changes other than the design. The hardware is almost identical, with a display that mirrors the last generation’s specifications, except for a maximum brightness of 1,900 nits. we have like this 2K resolution curved screen and adaptive refresh from 120 Hz to 10 Hz The processor is a significant leap forward from the latest generation Qualcomm and its memory configurations are the same as those of its younger sibling.
At the photo level, watch the resolution of the Xiaomi 12 ProWith three 50-megapixel sensors (telephoto, main and wide-angle). But in this case we are talking about a one-inch sensor with “hyper stabilization”, a technology similar to what we saw in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. This sensor promises brutal results, which we will prove in the corresponding analysis.
The battery is now 4,820mAh, Maintaining a magnificent 120W load. Having a more efficient processor should last much longer, but the 1,900 nits consumption of the screen can seem cumbersome.
Versions and price of Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro
Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro start at 545 and almost 700 euros, respectively. this is the price in chinaso we’ll have to wait and see how it goes after a possible upside adjustment due to the move to the euro, taxes and inflation.
