The nubia brand, owned by the Chinese company ZTE, introduced the gaming smartphones Red Magic 8 Pro and Red Magic 8 Pro+. While there are also differences in battery capacity, maximum amount of RAM and fast charging power, the innovations have a lot in common in terms of features and appearance.

Both models are equipped with a dual Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with a proprietary Red Magic R2 chip that allows you to adjust gaming effects such as sound, color details, touch sensitivity and vibration feedback.

The AMOLED screen of smartphones with a diagonal of 6.8 inches has a Full HD + resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of up to 960 Hz. The front 16-megapixel camera for selfies is placed under the screen, just like the previous Red Magic 7 Pro model.

On the back of the smartphones is a triple camera with a 50-megapixel 1/1.57-inch Samsung ISOCELL GN5 sensor with a pixel size of 1.0 μm, as well as an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module. 120° viewing angle and 2 megapixel sensor.

Smartphones received an efficient ICE 11.0 cooling system, which includes several layers of graphite sheets and an evaporation chamber with a volume of 2068 mm.³. The fan on the side has a rotation speed of 20,000 rpm and the graphite sheet dissipates the heat from the screen.

The nubia Red Magic 8 Pro model is equipped with a 6000mAh battery, the most powerful in the nubia Red Magic series. Thanks to the 80 W charging support, it takes only 35 minutes to fill the charge from 0% to 100%. The Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro+ model has a smaller battery capacity of 5000 mAh. With 165W of capacity, the capacity had to be reduced to support faster charging. The battery has been shrunk in size, freeing up space to house components that provide power distribution, security management, and overall protection.

Nubia is also reportedly improving the design of the smartphones to provide better communication between the nine separate antennas on the body. There is a 3.5mm audio jack at the top of the case, and a USB-C port for charging at the bottom. The polling frequency of the trigger keys is 520 Hz.

The novelties will go on sale in China on December 28. The Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro model is available for pre-order for 3,999 yuan ($574) with 8/128, 8/256 and 12/256GB memory configurations. The case color is black, the nubia Red Magic 8 Pro 12/256 GB has a transparent back panel.

The Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro+ model also comes in three memory options – 12/256, 16/512GB and 1TB and 16GB. The smartphone, which is available for pre-order, starts at 5,199 yuan ($747) and is black in body color. You can install a transparent back panel for an extra 200 yuan.
