The next generation of Apple smartphones will have improved energy efficiency. This was reported by the Bloomberg agency.
As the insiders know, Taiwanese company TSMC, the main processor manufacturer for Apple, has released chips based on the three nanometer process. As a result, the new processors will be called A17 Bionic.
Experts also named the main feature of the new chips and smartphones. Obviously, the processors will be distinguished by increased energy efficiency, which will allow the iPhone to work longer on one battery charge.
In addition to the A17, M3 chips will be created using the three-nanometer process, the next generation of ARM processors for Apple computers and tablets. According to TSMC representatives, its new processors will be about 35 percent more energy efficient than chips of the previous generation.
Bloomberg authors also noted that Samsung, one of Apple’s main competitors, began producing 3-nanometer chips in July. “The company aims to catch up with TSMC in contract chip manufacturing and meet the growing demand for high-performance devices with lower power consumption”– stressed journalists.
