Another feature has been added to Google Voice, which provides numbers for making domestic and international calls from web browsers and mobile devices. The company says it will now flag spam calls by adding a “Suspicious Spam Call” flag to your device’s incoming call screen.

In a blog post, Google mentions that when you receive a call, you can mark it as not spam or let the app do it for you. For example, if its service suspects that a call is spam, it adds a “Suspected Spammer” tag to it, which will appear both on the call screen and in the history list. The end user can then confirm the suspected spam call or mark it as not spam.

A call marked as not spam by you will ask the service to no longer mark incoming calls from that number as spam. This feature is not controlled by the administrator and the suspicious spam flag appears automatically when the audio spam filter is set to OFF. You can change it by going to settings and By choosing Security > filter spam e-mail. When enabled, all calls that Google defines as spam are automatically sent to voicemail and call logs to the spam folder.

Google also states that the feature will authenticate a search using the same advanced artificial intelligence (AI) system that helps identify billions of spam searches each month in Google’s search ecosystem. It recently demonstrated the power of its AI system, which can also translate doctor’s prescriptions into readable text.
