It may be too soon for Galaxy Z Fold 5 resources, but that’s the world we live in. According to Vietnamese broadcaster The Pixel, Samsung is preparing to introduce its foldable device in 2023 with some key changes. The device may include an entirely new processor based on the 4nm process and may even have a built-in S-Pen slot like the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Citing sources, the publication claims that the test version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is running on a new processor called Qualcomm Snapdragon 985 5G. It is based on a 4 nm process. This is the first time we’ve heard of this chipset, and the semiconductor manufacturer hasn’t officially announced it yet.

The Pixel report contradicts an earlier report by ET News, which revealed that the Z Fold 5 will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. More information is needed to draw any conclusions. It is also reported that the smartphone will be slightly thicker (6.5mm instead of 6.3mm) and slightly heavier than the previous model. The device will also feature an S-Pen slot, which is likely responsible for the increased weight and thickness.

It was previously known that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a triple camera with a 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN3 camera and a 12-megapixel front camera. Other details about the smartphone are still unknown. Like every year, Samsung may introduce a new foldable device at its Galaxy Unpacked event in August. We need to get more information about the device in the coming days. Also, the Korean company has just (accidentally) confirmed the launch date of the Galaxy S23 series.
