A detailed leak just yesterday revealed the specs and price of the Oppo A78 5G. And today the Chinese company has officially unveiled the smartphone in Malaysia. It is also expected to arrive in India on January 14. Oppo’s all-new mid-range model brings a large LCD screen, a powerful MediaTek chipset, dual 50MP cameras and much more.

Starting from the design, the smartphone resembles the Oppo 58 5G, which was launched in November 2022, though not exactly. It has a left-aligned camera module with a vertical strip that extends about halfway up the back panel. The front panel features a flat screen with a drop notch. The phone has rather thin bezels and a relatively thick chin.

Now let’s move on to the technical specifications. Oppo A78 5G has a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD card slot for further expansion.

The smartphone has a dual main camera with a 50 MP primary sensor. It also has a 2 megapixel depth camera. There is an 8-megapixel camera on the front for selfies. The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 33W charging support.

It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 5G connectivity, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB-C. The smartphone is protected against water and dust according to the IP54 standard. On the software front, it runs Android 13 with ColorOS 13 on top. Finally, the official price of the Oppo A78 5G is still unknown. The company also did not reveal the sales date of the smartphone in Malaysia. A recent leak revealed that the price of the device will be around $230 for the base variant.
