Apple unveils new MacBook Pros with M2 Pro and M2 Max processors

There aren’t as many updates as we’d like, but there’s still something to talk about. Channel 24 collected all the modifications of the new generation “Macbooks” and compared the differences with the previous one.

  • Apple announces two next-generation MacBook Pro models with more power chips M2 Pro and M2 Max – with 14 and 16 inch screens. The company claims that the base MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro chip is 20% faster and 30% more powerful at graphics tasks than the 2021 model.
  • Devices 96 gigabytes of combined RAM It was equipped with LPDDR5 (maximum 64 gigabytes in the 2021 series) and an SSD drive with a capacity of up to 8 terabytes.
  • MacBook Pro 2023 gets the newest interface HDMI 2.1Support is provided for external displays with 8K resolution at 60 hertz. A 4K monitor connection with a frequency of 144 and even 240 hertz is also supported.
  • Also, new laptops have Thunderbolt 4 and work with the new Wi-Fi 6e module.
  • All MagSafe 3 on the new MacBook Pro now match the color of the selected model.
  • The screens are the same as before: Liquid Retina XDR with top notch and 1080p HD camera.
  • Six studio-quality speakers and microphones are built into the chassis.

The most powerful MacBook Pro can now “take over scenes that other laptops and computers can’t.” For example, compiling in Xcode is 25% faster than the previous generation, and rendering in Adobe Photoshop is 80% faster compared to the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro. In-motion rendering of titles and animations is now 80% faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro and 20% faster than the previous generation.

What hasn’t changed:

  • Design. Externally, the laptops are no different from the 2021 modelsThis is not surprising given the large-scale redesign from the previous generation;
  • FaceTime camera;
  • Sound system;
  • microphones;
  • Maximum SSD capacity;
  • Image quality and diagonal;
  • Keyboard, trackpad;
  • MagSafe;
  • Dimensions (size, thickness, weight);
  • Body colors;
  • Fast charging speed;
  • Battery capacity;
  • Complete set (excluding MagSafe cable).

The price will also remain unchanged. Cost of a basic 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro 1999 dollarsand 16-inch model $2499. Laptops will go on sale January 24.
