Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra will get Google Fast Pair support

According to the compiled data evaluated by 9to5Google, Google’s Quick Pair feature will be available on smartphones soon. Reports suggest that the Quick Setup feature will be included in Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S23, which is scheduled to launch on February 1.

Fast Pair is a feature developed by Google to make it easier to set up new Android devices. This feature works by allowing an Android device to discover another device that has not yet been installed. When this happens, a Quick Pair drop-down menu will appear where users can perform on-screen actions to transfer their data from the old device to the new device. These contacts may contain photos and other personal information.

Currently, Fast Pair supports headphones and smartwatches, but trackers and stylus will be available soon. For example, when setting up a Samsung device, users can use the Samsung Smart Switch app to migrate their data. This feature is similar to using QR codes to configure other devices where the user scans the code to initiate a data transfer.

The launch of the Galaxy S23 series would be a good time to introduce this feature as many people will be upgrading their phones to the latest Galaxy S23 models. Since Galaxy models run Android-based OneUI, the feature is expected to work similarly to how Wear OS watches look on Fast Pair, making the process smooth and seamless for users.
