The author of the YouTube channel assembled the device from a video camera and a grid with symbols in front of which goldfish swim. The system interpreted the movement of the fish as the input of commands that allowed to “pass” various games in this way. The process is strange, but the audience loved to watch it.

What happened then

The downside to this idea is that because of the chaotic behavior of the fish, they have to do a lot of movement – for example, they spent 3195 hours playing Pokémon Sapphire, compared to the average 30 hours for humans. Like this the blogger would usually go live and go about his business. This time, the same thing happened, but the game suddenly froze and the system went to the main menu. The controller also continued to record the movement of the fish.

The silent “hacker” chatted for 7 hours in total. Nintendo support later agreed to cancel the transaction and refund the money, but did not refund game points. The resulting damage turned out to be minor.
