The Nothing Phone (1) was launched last summer, and the company has already said that it will not rush the release of the second generation. However, it has now become clear that the new smartphone will be released this year.

The company’s president, Carl Pei, has announced his intention to launch the new product at the end of 2023. This time, Nothing will focus primarily on the US market, while the current model can only be purchased from there with a number of caveats and restrictions.

We couldn’t do it before because we were only in our second year and our hands were tied while creating the product. Now that we are more confident on our feet, we can take a step forward.

I tweeted earlier that we won’t be releasing the Phone (2) anytime soon. But that doesn’t mean we’ll never start it. I’m sick of other companies launching bimonthly phones and not supporting them. The point I’m trying to make is, let’s get the products to market at a healthy pace and we can maintain the product in terms of software and continue developing it.

Pei did not reveal specific details, but said the new model will be more premium than the first. So, it will be more valuable. Also, Nothing will focus on software with the new product.
