The day has come. Samsung has just introduced the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which aims to be one of the best Android phones of 2023. This generation’s philosophy is a little different: Samsung doesn’t want to revolutionize design or specifications, wants to polish what already exists. Looking at the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra spec sheet, it looks similar to what we saw last year. We start with the panel. exactly the same 6.8 inch AMOLED, with adaptive 120 Hz, Dolby Vision, HDR10 and a maximum brightness of 1,750 nits. The main change is that the glass covering it less curved nowlooks like a slight 2.5D effect rather than a normal curvature. Samsung argues that curved panels provide better grip and therefore does not want to eliminate this feature completely. There is also a slight change in the protection covering it, it is now Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The rest of the design is almost identical to what we saw in the previous generation. It’s pretty rectangular, with an S-Pen and IP68 resistance inside that doesn’t offer any new features. The battery powering it is 5,000mAh with 45W fast charging, but Samsung ensures this Galaxy has the best autonomy seen in the family.

This is due to the big change inside: the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This is by far the best processor an Android phone can mount today. Compared to the 1st Gen, which experienced significant throttling, the improvement is huge and will deliver both better performance and higher energy efficiency.
