The iPhone 14 Plus is selling so low that Apple hasn’t been buying screens for the model for at least two months (December 2022 and January 2023). This was reported by 9To5Mac, citing Ross Young, an insider at Digital Supply Chain Consultants.
According to Ross, the Pro and Pro Max models are the best-selling models in the 14th iPhone series. In December last year, the share of screens for these devices accounted for 75% of purchased parts, and in January – 80%. Accordingly, 25% and 20% fell to the basic iPhone 14.
Ross believes that Apple will continue to buy screens for the iPhone 14 Plus in February, but the share of the model will be no more than 5% of the parts.
9To5Mac noted that despite the depressing sales of the iPhone 14 Plus in 2023, rumor has it that Apple has no intention of giving up on the launch of the iPhone 15 Plus. Apple plans to increase the price of the iPhone 15 Pro to stimulate demand for the base model with a larger screen.
