The American company Apple has filed a patent application describing the development of Dynamic Island on the top of the iPhone 15 smartphone screens. This is reported by Patently Apple with reference to documents.

According to them, they plan to hide the Face ID system under the screen of the device. The document talks about the ability to show gestures performed without actually touching the screen.

In the article, sensors that can be hidden under the screen include Touch ID sensors, sensors for measuring three-dimensional non-contact movements (“air movements”), pressure sensors, location sensors, health sensors.

The patent states that sensors under the screen may also include optical sensors, as well as light detection and distance sensors. Such systems will be able to determine where the user’s gaze is directed.

Dynamic Island locations are intended to be altered by selectively enabling and disabling different pixels, creating so-called “transparent windows”. However, Apple wants to achieve such an effect that the sensors under the screen are still not visible to the user. According to Patently Apple, the company plans to change the structure of the layers on the screen of smartphones for these purposes.
