Today, Vivo has officially unveiled its flagship X80 camera phones that have set the lead (or at least their top spot) in the DxOMark rating. The base model is called the X80. The combination of price and features of the smartphone looks very attractive.
To begin with, the Vivo X80 is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. This platform even outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Gen1, not to mention the Exynos 2200 that underpins the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. So the flagship Vivo is definitely faster than the flagship Samsung.
Interestingly, the engineers provided a rather large evaporation chamber – its area is 4285 mm 2. It should be noted that the Dimensity 9000 is not prone to overheating, unlike the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Vivo X80 is equipped with a 6.78 inch AMOLED Samsung E5 display, Full HD+ resolution, 120 Hz frame rate, 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage and 1500 cd/m² peak brightness.
A detailed comparison of the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Vivo X80 will appear later, and you can only evaluate the technical parameters of the novelty. The main sensor is the latest 50 megapixel Sony IMX866 with RGBW pixel arrangement. It is complemented by an optical image stabilization system. The other two sensors are the 12 megapixel Sony IMX663. One works with the ultra wide angle lens and the other with the telephoto lens. It should be noted that high-quality optics – Zeiss Vario-Tessar. The V1+ image processor is designed to improve photos and videos (especially in low light conditions).
Vivo X80 received a battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh with support for fast charging with a capacity of 80 watts. It takes 34 minutes to fully charge the battery.
Vivo X80 configuration also includes stereo speakers, NFC, infrared emitter, USB 3.1 Type-C port. In terms of appearance, there are two versions of the smartphone: in one the back panel is covered with glass (thickness and weight – 8.3 mm and 206 grams), and in the other with artificial leather (8.78 mm and 203 grams).
