Redmi is reportedly preparing to add a new member to its existing Note 12 lineup. Dubbed the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, the smartphone may feature a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset and an OLED display. It may even appear in the global market, but as a Poco smartphone. While awaiting the official launch, the phone has been certified by MIIT in China. Details are here. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo has been certified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China with model number 23049RAD8C. As usual, the listing doesn’t reveal any specifics of the device, but hints at its imminent launch.
A previous report suggested that the Redmi smartphone could enter the international market as the Poco X4 GT with model number 23049PCD8G. It is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset, which has not yet been officially announced. The SoC is said to be based on TSMC’s 4nm process and offers impressive performance. The smartphone is also said to have a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display may have a fingerprint sensor and a central hole for a selfie camera. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo may feature a triple camera system that includes a 50MP primary sensor, 8MP secondary sensor, and a 2MP macro or depth sensor. It can be powered by a 5500mAh battery with 67W fast wired charging support.
A Pro model may join the Note 12 Turbo, which may have relatively better features and a higher price tag. Currently, there is an official confirmation from Redmi regarding the upcoming devices.
