Volla X23 phone with Mediatek Helio G99 chipset released

Volla Phone X23, the latest version of the Volla Phone project, can now be purchased from Hallo Welt Systeme. Like its predecessors, Volla Phone X23 does not support Google and has an open source operating system. The device starts with Volla or Ubuntu Touch OS as default software.

Hardware-wise, the Volla Phone X23 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, which has previously received praise from devices like the Moto G72 and POCO M5. The X23 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It is powered by a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, providing the phone with plenty of power. The device also has a 6.1-inch U-shaped display with a resolution of 1560×720 pixels. The X23 has a dual camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 16MP front camera. Volla Phone X23 is expected to deliver sharp photos and videos with such a camera. The dimensions of the device are 160.90x80x12.2 mm, and its weight is 270 grams.

The Volla Phone X23 is currently available in Europe for €522 (~$555) with Volla OS or Ubuntu Touch preinstalled. However, Hallo Welt Systeme is offering a 10% discount on the device until 19 March with the code “VOLLAX23”. This discount brings the original price down to €478.13 (~$508). Customers who pre-order the device can receive the device in May. Hallo Welt Systeme appears to only be selling the device in Europe for now, but the company’s FAQ says it will eventually be available on Indiegogo for customers in other regions.
