Nothing (1) gets Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5 update

Nothing Phone (1) was released last July. It came with Android 12 out of the box. Now, the company led by Carl Pei is officially releasing the Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5 update for Phone users (1). The latest version of the software includes many new features and improvements. Read on to learn more about it below.

Nothing based on Android 13 OS 1.5 update is being rolled out to all users. Phone users (1) can simply go to Settings and go to Software Update under the General tab. They can then select the Download and Install button. Android 13 based nothing OS 1.5 update weighs in at 1.25GB. Before updating the operating system to the latest version, users are advised to back up their data, connect their phone to Wi-Fi for a reliable connection, and make sure that the device has sufficient battery power.

Based on Android 13, Nothing OS 1.5 brings a new weather app and changes to the camera UI. New customizations have arrived, including Glyph ringtones, notification sounds, and many more exclusive Material You color schemes. The software version also offers lock screen shortcut settings for camera, flashlight, device controls and wallet. There are also visual updates such as a new media management interface, new audio controls, live captions and smoother animations.

Nothing OS version 1.5 brings a 50 percent increase in app loading speed, a quick network settings panel, and turning off active background apps from the notification center. The update introduces a new QR code scanner in quick settings and camera app to make it more accessible. Finally, the latest version of the software comes with a personal security app and a new self-healing feature that allows the phone to optimize memory consumption.
