Previously, every smartphone came with a removable battery and 3.5mm headphone jack. While the latter can still be seen on many budget phones, you’re unlikely to find a phone with the former. There are several other smartphones with removable batteries and you can add the latest Nokia C02 to the list.
Nokia mobile has quietly launched the affordable Nokia C02 as its latest entry-level smartphone. It has a 5.45-inch LCD display with FWVGA+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The screen of the smartphone has wide, thick bezels that take us back to the old days. It has a polycarbonate frame and a nano-textured back. There is also IP52 waterproofing.
In the camera section, there is a 2-megapixel front camera and a single 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. The smartphone is powered by a relatively large 3,000 mAh battery, which should be enough to power the phone throughout the day. As mentioned, the battery is removable, meaning you can always replace it with a new one if you run out of charge.
Under the hood, the Nokia C02 is powered by an unnamed quad-core SoC clocked at 1.4 GHz. The SoC is paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. On the software front, the phone runs Android 12 (Go edition). The brand will offer two years of security updates.
The smartphone is equipped with two slots for SIM cards and one slot for microSD cards. The phone is charged using the microUSB connector. Nokia C02 pricing and availability are currently unknown. The brand should explain this as soon as possible. The phone should cost less than $80.
