The Motorola Defy Satellite Link is managed by a proprietary MediaTek chip that supports two-way satellite communication via 3GPP NTN (Non-Terrestrial Networks) technology, which some studies refer to as “5G from space” connectivity.

With this chip, the device can provide affordable and continuous coverage by connecting to fixed price satellites.
