British company Bullitt Group and Motorola, now owned by Chinese Lenovo, introduced a new smartphone from the Motorola Defy series. Highlights of the Motorola Defy 2 are the support of two-way satellite communication with fifth generation 5p cellular networks and a very robust design.

The smartphone is dust, sand, dirt and water resistant (IP68 and IP69K) and tested to military standard Mil-Spec 810H for extreme high and low temperatures, humid environments, salt fog, vibration and shock. The Motorola Defy 2 can be washed with soap and water and can also be cleaned with alcohol wipes.

The smartphone itself is equipped with a 6.6-inch Full HD+ display with 120 Hz refresh rate, 8 MP front camera, primary triple camera (50 MP, 8 and 2 MP), MediaTek Dimensity 930 SoC, 6 GB RAM. and 128GB of flash memory expandable using microSD cards, and a 5000mAh battery with 15W charging and Qi wireless charging support.

MediaTek Bullitt and 3GPP NTN technology, Bullitt Satellite Message Service are supported. The smartphone is loaded with Android 12 operating system, two major Android updates and a 5-year security update are promised. The Motorola Defy 2 smartphone will be available from the second quarter of 2023 on select carriers in North America, Latin America and Canada with prices starting at $599.
