Galaxy S23 Ultra compared to iPhone 14 Pro Max for speed

The authors of the PhoneBuff channel have put the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in a duel with the iPhone 14 Pro Max to check which of their flagships is faster. As always, the tests of this channel are interesting in that they are carried out using a robotic manipulator, which allows you to avoid the influence of the human factor.

This year, Samsung’s flagship is only available in a version on the Qualcomm platform, the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is mostly only praised, and the next-gen One UI shell is also praised for its speed and smooth operation. And tests show that Samsung’s innovation is really fast. At the beginning of the test, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is slightly ahead. At the same time, the iPhone took so long for some reason to open the Filmora program, which increased the vulnerability. At the same time, if earlier Apple smartphones were always much faster in video processing than Android solutions, here we see that rendering occurs at approximately the same speed.

At the same time, Apple’s flagship coped with Google Trends faster, and iPhone games almost always start faster. As a result, the smartphones reached the finals of the first round with a minimal margin in favor of the Samsung flagship. And here it is important to note that in the tests of the resource, Apple smartphones always lead the first round for 1244 days, that is, almost three and a half years. The Galaxy S23 Ultra broke that streak.

On the way back, smartphones show roughly the same app launch speeds, but here in the case of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the fact that it takes two swipes to close the game, requiring one swipe on an Apple smartphone plays in favor of the iPhone. And this difference in the result allows the iPhone 14 Pro Max to catch up with the opponent and even officially win, but the difference in fractions of a second is hardly worth considering.
