The latest iPhone rumor suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a thinner camera than the previous generation. This is evident in the new CAD images and related images shared by Apple Ice Universe in a series of tweets. The uneven camera of the iPhone has been bothering users for years, causing the device to shake when placed on a flat surface.
One solution is to use a casing to offset the vibrations. According to the tweets, the alleged iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to have thinner bezels but a thicker titanium alloy middle frame. Its dimensions are 159.86×76.73×8.25 mm, with an overall thickness of 11.84 mm including the camera protrusion. For comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro Max measures 160.7×77.6×7.85mm and has a total thickness of 12.03mm.
Special: iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra), CAD-based rendering.
Compared to the 14ProMax, the bezel is narrower but thicker.

This means that the overall footprint of the device will be smaller than the iPhone 14 Pro Max as it will slightly reduce the height and width. However, the figures show that although the main body of the 15 Pro Max is thicker, the shallow camera bump will make the overall thickness less than that of the 14 Pro Max.
Another interesting finding is that the volume and power buttons have disappeared in the renders. This coincides with previous rumors that 2023 flagship iPhones are expected to feature solid-state buttons similar to what we saw on the iPhone 7/8 home button. This type of button doesn’t physically move and feels like it’s being pressed using only the iPhone’s haptic feedback. The renders also have a Type-C port instead of the legacy Lightning.
