The author of the ZoneOfTech YouTube channel has published specific information that he is almost 100% sure of: the iPhone 15 Pro will have a common solid-state button instead of two physical volume buttons.
He explains this with iPhone 15 Pro drawings that were previously leaked by protective case manufacturers. The truth is that Apple usually uses two pins to connect each button, but the new creation only shows two pins where the volume controls are. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 render shows two separate four-pin connectors.
Also, ZoneOfTech claims that the silent mode will be activated using a new button instead of the classic physical switch that iPhone owners have long gotten used to.
More and more insiders are confirming that Apple is using solid-state buttons with haptic feedback to control power and volume on the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models.
Apple will reportedly add two additional Taptic Engines to the iPhone 15 Pro to support solid-state buttons. The standard version of the iPhone 15 has physical mechanical buttons. 9to5Mac confirmed, quoting itself, that the iPhone 15 Pro will have a unified volume switch and a mute button to press instead of toggling as before.
