China-based TikTok, which has revolutionized it with its short video format, has allowed us to see similar features across many social media platforms. Instagram’s Reels service and YouTube’s Shorts service are the best examples of this. Now a similar move has come from another giant platform.
Reddit today launched the platform with its statement. TikTok-like announced a stream. The new feature, which will reportedly be available to users in the coming weeks, will allow text and video messages to be separated.
The function will look like this
If we open the feature a little more, Reddit has a new ‘Watch’ with the rest only a videodepartment it has been added. The other section, which will be called ‘Read’, will contain messages with text.
The new stream reminiscent of TikTok, which users subscribe to of subreddits and suggestions including inbound shipments. Reddit states that it is currently testing the split-stream feature and specifying how users want to respond, and plans to bring it to everyone in the coming weeks.
The new feature is coming to the top left sections of the application. Here it normally contained different message groups like “Home”, “Popular”, “News”, “Latest”. With the statement made today, it was seen that “Watch” meaning “Watch” and “Read” meaning “read” will be added here.
Reddit is trying to simplify its implementation
The new changes show that Reddit is starting to focus on video content. Pali Bhat, one of the company’s executives, says it could be helpful for users to create a section dedicated to video content, while also pointing out that things like adding comments will come.
These moves also make Reddit’s app more simplification and part of efforts to get more users. The platform, which has hundreds of millions of users, tried to provide ease of use as it was criticized for its complicated-looking interface.
