Redmi 9C and Redmi 9C NFC came out of the box with MIUI 12 based on Android 10. After that, Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 was released for them, but interestingly this update was not available in some countries (for example, it was not released in Turkey and India for the local Poco C3 clone).

It seems that the update release process for these models is delayed. According to the XiaomiUI resource, which tracks the release of new software versions for various Xiaomi phones, MIUI 13 will not be released for the Redmi 9C and Redmi 9C NFC – although this version of the interface was announced for them earlier.

This is due to the MediaTek Helio G35 single-chip system and its very modest performance, which is not enough to keep MIUI 13 running smoothly. More modern SoCs use more powerful, energy-efficient Arm Cortex-A510 cores. It is noted that the latest version of MIUI for Redmi 9C and Redmi 9C NFC with MIUI-V23.1.12 was released a long time ago and there has been no update since then.
