A new version of the popular gaming smartphone from Nubia, a well-known Chinese smartphone company, has been released. Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro Transparent Silver Edition has been officially launched in China. The device, as the name suggests, has a transparent back panel and looks great. As a gaming-focused smartphone, the manufacturer has also given the product a gaming-specific look and feel.

The device offers the same hardware features as the standard variant. The recently announced Transparent Silver Edition is only available in a 12GB variant. It is priced at RMB 4,999 (~$724). The device is already up for pre-order in the country and the official sale of the device will take place on March 21. Users who pre-book will receive an additional discount of RMB 100 (~US$14).

According to the company’s jargon, the smartphone offers something called “Atomic Silver Industrial Transparent Design.” It has a 6.8 inch FullHD+ AMOLED display with a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The front screen looks great thanks to the brand’s use of an under-screen camera. This is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset. Based on Android 13, RedMagic OS works right out of the box.

In terms of optics, it has a triple primary camera with a 50-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel secondary ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. There is a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front. RedMagic 8 Pro is a performance-oriented smartphone so you don’t have to worry about cameras. Coming to the battery, it includes a 6000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging and 65W wireless charging.
