OPPO recently introduced its horizontally foldable smartphone, the OPPO Find N2 Flip. Also, Vivo is gearing up to launch the Vivo X Flip device. The foldable smartphone market is booming. Samsung used to dominate the aftermarket, but other OEMs now provide healthy competition. Vivo also plans to introduce its competitor in the near future.

Vivo’s next flip phone, the X Flip, has been spotted on Geekbench with some key specs. It is reported that the smartphone will be launched in China in April with the model name vivo V2256A.

According to the Geekbench listing, it includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset powering the Vivo X Flip, an octa-core processor with a base clock speed of 1.80 GHz and an Adreno 730 GPU. The device, which uses a motherboard codenamed ‘Taro’, also offers 12 GB of storage space and runs the Android 13 operating system.

On Geekbench, the Vivo X Flip scored 1,680 in the single-core test and 4,267 in the multi-core test. These results are in line with other high-end smartphones using the same processor, such as the Samsung Galaxy S23.

Rumors have it that the Vivo X Flip will have two screens: a foldable home screen and an additional screen on the back. In addition, the device can support fast charging and have a quad camera configuration with an under-display fingerprint scanner.

While Vivo has yet to officially confirm any information about the Vivo X Flip, more details are likely to be revealed as the launch date approaches. Motorola Razr 5G and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 are the two clamshell phones this product is expected to compete with.
