Last year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 in August. Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 are also expected to launch in August of this year. No official launch date has been announced, but thanks to a well-known Ice Universe leak, some details have emerged about the duo’s expected specs.

According to the leak, the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 will have a new touchscreen technology, but there is no information yet on what exactly it is or how it will benefit users. The Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 will also reportedly share waterdrop loops and support IPX8 water resistance. According to the leak, the duo will get its power from Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

As we have mentioned before, Z Fold5 may not have a special slot for the S Pen, which is one of the most requested features by users. The Ice universe also highlighted some of the improvements that the duo will have over their predecessors. As the leak states, Fold5’s size is “0.2mm different from the size of Fold4.” The device will appear thinner than its predecessor, as there will be no visible gap when folded. The Galaxy Z Fold4 has a noticeable gap between its screen when folded, making the device unwieldy and its hinge may be damaged.

The leak also reveals that the external screen size of the Z Fold5 will be 6.2 inches, matching the size of its predecessor. However, the Z Fold5, which weighs 254 grams, will be slightly lighter than the Z Fold4 model, which weighs 263 grams.

On the other hand, the outer screen of the Galaxy Z Flip5 is said to be “almost square at 3.4 inches”. The bezels on the Z Flip5 will be narrower than on the Z Flip4. And that’s it for the entire Ice universe that popped up on the Twitter timeline. However, more details on specs and other information will begin to appear online as we get closer to the official launch date.
