Apple is gearing up to launch the iPhone 15 series later this year. However, the first-gen iPhone still looks far more valuable than its current iterations, as recent auctions for the original iPhone had bids in excess of $50,000.

Earlier, we reported that a first-generation iPhone still in the box sold for more than $63,000, setting a record for this smartphone model. Now, another original iPhone model still factory sealed has seen an auction price of $55,000. There have also been unopened original iPhones that have sold for $35,000 and $39,000 in the past.

So the cost of an almost 16-year-old phone continues to rise even now. This trend applies not only to the smartphones of the Cupertino giant, but also to some of its older products. This includes an “undisclosed” Apple-1 computer that was not disclosed at auction but sold for a high sum. There was even an iPhone 11 model that sold for around $4,000 because it was signed by Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Likewise, the technical manual of Steve Jobs (founder of Apple) sold for about $12,500 and his business card was sold for $6,188. The iPhone, which was put up for sale from the factory, belonged to an Apple employee who bought the device while working for companies. However, he had already purchased an iPhone in 2007, so the replacement model was never announced. And now its value has skyrocketed above the initial price.
