As you know, the Boring Company specializes in tunneling and has already built one near Las Vegas. Therefore, such a task will not be new to him. The company has raised $675 million in investment and will try to build the Hyperloop system.

what is known

The Hyperloop idea belongs to American engineers James Powell and Gordon Denby, the developers of Maglev, and was introduced in 2003. However It was Elon Musk who shaped it in 2013 as we know it today. Since then, several companies have worked to implement the concept, but Musk has abandoned it, citing employment. For the longest time – nearly 10 years – this transport of the future has been occupied by the company of Virgin billionaire Richard Branson, a friend of Musk. But in early 2022, Hyperloop abandoned passenger transport in favor of freight – launching them is much easier technologically than securing passenger pods.

On Sunday, April 24, Musk responded to someone’s message with a list of the world’s worst organized transportation cities, saying, “In the coming years, the Boring Company will try to build a working Hyperloop.”

“In the coming years, Boring Co. will try to build a working Hyperloop. In terms of physics as we know it.is the fastest possible way to get from one city center to another in less than 2,000 miles. Faster for longer trips [тільки] starship”, Musk wrote.

According to the billionaire, the advantages of Hyperloop are not only speed and underground tunnels. He is not afraid of bad weather and will “not even notice” the hurricane.

“Underground tunnels are insensitive to surface weather conditions (underground passages are a good example), so it wouldn’t matter to the Hyperloop if there was a severe hurricane on the surface. You wouldn’t even notice it.”

It will be recalled that the idea of Hyperloop technology is to distribute passenger and cargo capsules in special vacuum tube tunnels at speeds of up to 1,200 kilometers per hour. The absence of air resistance and other vehicles on the road should significantly speed up the delivery of passengers and goods over long distances. To date, only a few test sites have been created in this direction, from which Hyperloop was launched – with and without passengers. In addition, a number of agreements were signed with various countries that ensure the construction of suitable infrastructure on their territory.

The future appearance of Hyperloop was even talked about in Ukraine. The first tunnel would connect the Dnieper and Kiev, and it would be possible to reach Lviv from the capital in just half an hour. However, this idea was later called absurd and the then Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krykliy said there would be no Hyperloop in Ukraine.
