Samsung has two flagship smartphone lines, Galaxy S-series and Galaxy Z-series, both of which support eSIM connectivity. While eSIM was considered a premium feature considering there are only a handful of eSIM-enabled smartphones on the market, the South Korean giant is now bringing it to mid-range phones.

The recently launched Samsung Galaxy M54 5G smartphone comes with eSIM connectivity support, making it the company’s first mid-range smartphone with this support. However, like Samsung’s other eSIM phones, and unlike the iPhone 14 series in the US, the phone has a physical SIM card slot for those still bothered by the eSIM.

Samsung started offering eSIM support for its premium smartphones a few years ago, starting with the Galaxy S20 series launched in 2020. This feature allows users to connect to the network without having to insert a physical SIM card into the smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy M54 has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Under the hood, the device runs on the company’s own Exynos 1380 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and two internal storage options (128GB and 256GB).

In the camera department, on the back, there is a triple camera setup consisting of a 108MP main camera sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, there’s a 32-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calls. The phone runs Android 13 right out of the box, with the company’s own One UI 5.1 on top. It is powered by a 6000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.
