In late January, a report revealed that the Redmi Note 9 series will receive the MIUI 14 update in the second quarter of 2023. As this deadline approaches, two devices in the series have started receiving updates. Unfortunately, the latest software update is only available to a few users.

It is not surprising that the firmware is based on Android 12 rather than Android 13. Since these phones were launched with Android 10 and have already received two Android updates. However, MIUI 13 is the third major MIUI update since they debuted with MIUI 11. It’s good that Xiaomi supports them for three years of OS updates.

Anyway, as mentioned earlier, the update is only available for “Mi Pilot” testers. It will reach several regular users in the form of a “stable beta” in the coming weeks, followed by a final “stable” version for all users.
