Over the years, Oppo has put a lot of effort into developing its flagship-level camera system to compete with the best dogs in the industry. Although it could not reach the top when it comes to traditional flagship smartphones, the brand managed to outperform its competitors in the foldable smartphone category.

In a recent DxOMark camera test, the Oppo Find N2 Flip was found to outperform the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Despite close competition, the Find N2 Flip scored 114 against the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s 112 points. The results show that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 takes slightly better photos in normal mode, but the Oppo Find N2 Flip outperforms the zoom and video modes.

According to testing, the Find N2 Flip camera provides excellent exposure for photos and videos with a wide dynamic range, creates a good balance between texture and noise in photos, records videos with low noise, provides a wide enough depth of field, makes accurate predictions, nice in depth and bokeh mode creates a gradient blur. It also has fast autofocus in video mode.

Despite the impressive test results, the camera system still has some limitations. Exposure instability as well as shutter lag were observed indoors and in low-light conditions for both stills and video. Under certain conditions, photographs showed a mixture of artifacts and halos, as well as white balance shadows and false colors. Also, the video showed strong bright noise from moving objects and lacked detail when using telephoto zoom settings. Therefore, we can conclude that the camera system is not completely flawless.

With that in mind, the Oppo Find N2 Flip is ranked 69th in the global smartphone camera ranking and 49th in the DxOmark ultra-premium smartphone camera ranking.
