After Samsung and Oppo launched the 2023 model of their clamshell phones, Vivo seems to be welcoming users with one of their phones soon.

An image of the Vivo X Flip was leaked to the Chinese social network Weibo on Monday by someone known to have sources. The image shows a flip phone with a large flip screen in landscape orientation at the top of the device. It looks like a very different approach when compared to Oppo’s Find N2 Flip, which has a significantly larger screen than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and a more vertical orientation.

Smartphone companies are confident that foldable phones will be the next trend in smartphone technology, but the devices have not yet entered the mainstream, but clamshell phones have already taken their place in the industry, thanks in part to their compact design and exceptional user experience.

Chinese phone maker Oppo is deepening the phone maker’s commitment to the foldable phone category by launching its first flip phone in international markets this year.

Previous reports about the Vivo X Flip revealed that it will have a 6.8-inch internal display and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. It’s an international release, but the Chinese phone maker will reportedly launch its book-style foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold 2, in early April.
