Huawei has opened retail sales of its latest foldable smartphone with flexible display, the Huawei Mate X3. The first to purchase the new product will be residents of China. Prices for the Huawei Mate X3 start at $1,890. International launch is expected in May 2023. Huawei is promoting the novelty as the lightest phone on the planet, the device weighs 239 grams – 1 gram less than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Another feature was the support of satellite bidirectional communication. Users can send and receive messages via Beidou satellites even when the mobile network is unavailable. In addition, Huawei’s sophisticated smartphones now feature water protection (IPX8) and touch input mode with wet hands.

The hardware base was SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 4G from 256 GB to 1 TB of flash memory. The 4800mAh battery supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The unfolded thickness is 5.3 mm. HarmonyOS 3.1 operating system is installed on the smartphone.
